Appointment Schedule
Orange Blossom Educational Services’ OG lessons are offered from September through June. Orange Blossom Educational Services may also be open during July and August.
Orange Blossom Educational Services is open from approximately 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Mondays through Thursdays, September through June. We are open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays. Our offices are closed on Sundays and statutory holidays.
We are closed for two weeks in the second half of December for Winter Break and one week in March for Spring Break. Our school term calendar is available on the website.

Registration
Registration is always open. There are no formal registration dates. We accept new students throughout the school year, depending on availability in our schedule. We often maintain a wait-list and will proactively reach out to those on the wait-list in the order we were originally contacted when availability appears.
Cancellation Policy
Families who provide 24 hours’ notice prior to the scheduled tutoring session will not be charged for the lesson. If the family cancels less than 24 hours before the session, they will be charged for that session at a 50% rate. In the event of emergency or unforeseen illness, the cancellation fee may be waived.
In case of Illness
If your child is ill, they should NOT come to lessons as they will not be able to fully absorb the content of their lesson, while risking both their own health along with the health of the Practitioner. A student who is sick, has a family member with a COVID-related illness, or who has been in contact with an infected person, should cancel their lesson. Absent students will be given the option of scheduling a make-up session.
Late and No-Shows
We understand that despite best intentions, punctuality can be challenging at times. If a student will be late for their scheduled lesson, the family must contact Orange Blossom Educational Services by call, text, or email. If the student is already on the way to the lesson, Orange Blossom Educational Services will wait and end the session at the regularly scheduled time. It the tutor receives no response from the family or student after waiting for 15 minutes into the scheduled time, then the session will be cancelled, and the family will be charged in full.
If the Practitioner is running late or must cancel a session (including with less than 24 hours’ notice), the Practitioner must contact the parent or guardian by phone, text, or email. If a session starts late, the session will still end at the regularly scheduled time, and the fees for the lesson will be prorated at a discount of $10 for every 5 minutes delay, to a maximum of 15 minutes. If the Practitioner will be more than 15 minutes delayed, the session will be rescheduled, and no fees will be incurred.
Make-up Sessions
If the Practitioner or the family cancels a session, the family may opt to reschedule the missed session. For the benefit of the student, it is advised that the missed session be rescheduled within 2 weeks of the original date. Scheduled make-up sessions may not be rescheduled.
Only one lesson per month may be rescheduled.
Fee Schedule
Fees cover the actual lesson time and are inclusive of the planning and preparation time as well as the time to write session notes and progress reports. The fees also offset your Practitioner’s graduate-level education, OG training, professional certification/accreditation costs, liability insurance, and ongoing professional development required for OG Canada membership.
• Because lesson quality hinges on planning and preparation, as noted above fees are inclusive of the additional time required for planning for your child’s lesson as well as post-lesson documentation (session notes and progress reports).
• All lessons are exactly 60 minutes in duration.
• All lessons are one-on-one. Your child gets your Practitioner’s undivided attention for the entire lesson.
• All lessons are individualized to your child’s needs and progress.
• There are no additional fees or taxes. Tutoring services are exempt from GST under Schedule V, Part III, s. 9.
• Generally, there is a 2-lesson per week minimum. Exceptions may apply in cases of scheduling or financial difficulties.
Included at no additional cost:
• All lesson materials, including the Practitioner’s time to plan and prepare for your child’s lesson and create necessary materials.
• Either emailed session notes after every lesson summarizing material covered, engagement level, and any other pertinent details, or an optional 5-minute discussion with your child’s Practitioner after every lesson to review lesson content and progress.
• Bi-monthly emailed progress reports.
• Free monthly consultations with your child’s Practitioner when you have questions or would like an update on your child’s program and progress.
• Automatic lesson reminder emails sent 24 hours before each lesson, helping you to not miss any lessons.
• Orange Blossom Educational Services does not attend meetings at your child’s school, but is available by phone or email to connect with your child’s teacher or learning support team as needed. There is no extra fee charged for this integration service.
Orange Blossom Educational Services invoices one week prior to the last scheduled lesson of each month. Invoices are due upon receipt. We accept cash and Interac e-transfers to orangeblossomogtutor@gmail.com. We do not accept credit or debit card payments at this time.
Receipts will be provided by email upon issuance of payment.
Late payments will incur a $25 fee for every 15 days the invoice remains overdue. If the invoice remains unpaid after 60 days legal action may be taken against the client.
Withdrawal Policy
Services may be terminated by a parent/guardian with thirty (30) days’ written notice. All lessons falling before and within the notice period must be paid for and are non-refundable. All lessons falling after the notice period will be cancelled at no charge, and if prepaid will be refunded. This policy applies to terminating services entirely and to reducing lesson frequency.
Expectations of Student and Family
To ensure that students get the most value out of their OG lesson, they should come on time, well-rested and fed. They should bring a water bottle. Students should use the washroom before the lesson starts. If students bring a mobile device with them, they will be asked to place it by the entrance; it is not needed for the lesson.
Students must be picked up on time. Parents and caregivers should arrive 5 minutes before the end of the session to be on hand for pick-up at the appointed time. Parents and caregivers must sign the student in and out of the lesson on the attendance sheet.
Safety
To maintain accreditation, annual ethics training is completed by the Practitioner.
The student will only be under the supervision of the Practitioner during the lesson and will not be left with any other person. The student will never be left supervised. All lessons will be recorded for the safety of both the student and the practitioner.
Students may not bring a friend to their lesson.
Students must be signed in and out by their parent or caregiver and will only be released to their parent or caregiver. If an older student is to leave on their own and not be released directly to their parent or caregiver, this should be arranged in advance IN WRITING with the parent or caregiver. The Practitioner will record the time that the student leaves on the attendance sheet.
Additionally, the Practitioner holds an active first aid certificate.
In the event of an emergency, the Practitioner will contact the student’s family (or alternate contact) by phone or text.
The Practitioner is unable to transport students to and from lessons.
Records and Reports
• Attendance records are kept for all sessions. Parents/guardians are required to sign the student in and out of each lesson.
• Session notes will be emailed after each lesson.
• Bimonthly written progress reports will be emailed.
