About Orange Blossom Educational Services
Orange Blossom Educational Services was founded in 2023 by Nicole Enns, an educational specialist, and the mother of a child (now young adult) with dyslexia and dysgraphia. When her children were young, Nicole educated them at home and was able to accommodate her children’s diverse learning needs. When her children entered school, she supported their learning in a different way, helping her children to advocate for their own needs. Her children have gone on to successfully complete post-secondary. Nicole has experience working as a psychometrist, administering psycho-educational assessment measures under the supervision of a registered clinical psychologist. Nicole also has experience in 1:1 tutoring with students who have disabilities and diverse abilities.

Teaching Philosophy
My philosophy on teaching and learning is grounded in my interest in life-long and life-wide learning. How can I best support others on their learning journey? As an educator, how can I nurture a student’s innate curiosity, their “spark of genius,” their natural inquisitiveness? I believe in taking a strengths-based approach and in nurturing a growth mindset in learners. My goal is to provide a supportive, creative environment in which learning unfolds naturally.
To be able to support others and witness their learning journey is a great joy and a humble privilege. I aim to connect authentically with learners and guide them towards inspired learning experiences that foster resilience and empowerment. I view learning from a holistic lens, appreciating the rich context of their whole life experience.

I am also committed to my own growth and development as an educator. I have an active personal and professional commitment to reconciliation which is evidenced in seeking out indigenous perspectives through readings, podcasts, and webinars. I am committed to upholding high standards of professional conduct. I complete ethics training annually in addition to continuing professional development hours. I keep a reflective teaching journal which provides perspective on how I can improve my instructional strategies. Additionally, I seek feedback from my students to improve my tutoring.
